Fuel begins to degrade as soon as it comes from the refinery and becomes gum and varnish. These particulates and degradation products result in filter plugging that can prevent your machines from carrying its required load at rated frequency and voltage. This can also cause the injector to not completely fill leading to internal cavitation damage and failure. Increased exhaust emissions and fuel system deposits are two other side effects of improper fuel quality maintenance. Water contamination, is often the result of accumulation of condensation. As the tank breathes the humid air is pulled in and condenses on the cool skin. This is the primary reason we recommend maintaining your tanks as full as practical at all times. Water accumulation in your system will result in fuel system corrosion, microbiological growth, rapid component wear and component scuffing and seizure failure. (Optional- Common engine mounted, water separators are rendered ineffective by the additives in ultra-low sulfur diesel allowing water to pass through your injection system causing damage. Lastly, microscopic abrasive particles are critical for wear in modern diesel engine fuel systems. Though these particles are not visible to the human eye, microscopic particles are contaminants doing the most damage. Premature abrasive wear out will result in high operating costs.
Fuel filtration, often referred to as fuel polishing, is an effective way to minimize water contamination and accumulation of tank bottom sludge.
Though not as complete as tank cleaning, this less expensive option is often adequate when correcting moderate tank contaminations
The most thorough, most involved tank service option. Tank cleaning is the best answer when you want to be certain your tanks are as clean as possible
